About Us
Our History
The Forward Curve was originally founded by CEO, April Egan, in 1992 as a commodity risk management consulting organization. Egan Risk Management (ERM) provided market analysis and strategies for the food and restaurant industry. In the early days of open and competitive natural gas and electricity markets, ERM was one of the first commodity analysis consulting firms to focus on these new markets with analytics, consulting, and a newsletter (theforwardcurve.com). Organizations new to the exposures of volatile commodities, like natural gas and electricity, relied on ERM to develop risk management governance structures, policies and procedures. In subsequent years ERM used its analytic strengths to extend to projects related to Energy Efficiency market potential analyses. Recently, reorganizing under a new name, The Forward Curve, the company builds on its risk management traditions with expansion in support of the Energy Efficiency industry.
